In the third level of Spanish, emphasis is placed on the technical aspects of sentence structure to increase oral proficiency and writing skills as a means of self-expression. ADVANCED PLACEMENT SPANISH IV

The work for the fourth level of Spanish includes a concentrated review of structure, advanced composition, literary selections from a variety of Hispanic authors, Hispanic art/architecture, and frequent conversational practice. Oral presentations are a course requirement. This course prepares the students to take the SAT II in Spanish and/or the Advanced Placement Test in Spanish Literature in order to obtain possible college credit. For Shea students, this course may also be taken in the Early Enrollment Program (EEP) offered through Rhode Island College for college credit upon approval.

*Students enrolled in this course are expected to register and sit for the AP exam
ADVANCED PLACEMENT SPANISH V

The work for the fifth level of Spanish includes reading from a variety of Hispanic authors, with discussion derived from the text. Original written themes and oral exercises give review and practice in advanced idiomatic structures. Independent projects, including research, oral presentation, written reports, and readings from major Hispanic authors are required. This course prepares the students to take the SAT II in Spanish and/or the Advanced Placement Test in Spanish Literature in order to obtain possible college credit.
